Dear Reader,

The idea for this book started on a drive home after a particularly challenging day. The first 30,000 words flew out of me and I found an escape unlike anything I've ever experienced disappearing into the world of Alexis and Elias each night. Even though my team didn't come close to making the playoffs (Let's go, Devils!), I wrote most of this book while watching the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs and finals. I'm not sure if anyone will read it or if it's really any good, but I hope you enjoy.

When I'm not watching hockey, I'm usually reading. My other favorite things include listening to Taylor Swift, hiking with my dog, drinking wine, and spending time with the people I love.
